Areas of focus include patients' perceptions of the following:
These patient satisfaction measures were developed jointly by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). The survey tool, Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), provides for standardization of key quality indicators for US hospitals and lets consumers make apples-to-apples comparisons when choosing healthcare facilities.
New data will be added quarterly. To view patient satisfaction scores, visit dukehealth.org or hospital compare.
