The Durham Farmers’ Market is offering a second location. Through August, the Farmers’ Market will be open every Thursday at Durham Regional Hospital, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Durham Farmers’ Market provides an opportunity to farmers who grow produce within 70 miles of Durham to sell their products year-round. In the summer months, locally grown vegetables, fruits, eggs, fresh cut flowers and bedding plants are available. In addition, the Farmer’s Market provides consumers with first-hand information about the quality of the food.
“Durham Regional has partnered with the Durham Farmers’ Market to provide employees, patients, visitors and the general public with a convenient opportunity to purchase healthy foods,” says Jennifer Prish, Live for Life employee wellness coordinator for Durham Regional Hospital. “This is part of our commitment to improving the health of our community.”
The Farmers’ Market at Durham Regional Hospital will be located in the lot across from the Emergency Department. Free parking is available across from the Emergency Department parking lot.
The Durham Farmers’ Market will continue to be open at is permanent location on Morris Street in Downtown Durham (near the Old Durham Ballpark), every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
