Teams of Durham residents will gather at Durham County Stadium on Saturday, May 20 at 11 a.m. for an overnight event to help cure cancer.
American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Durham County, sponsored by Durham Regional Hospital, is a family-oriented team event where participants can walk relay-style around the track and take part in fun activities off the track. Proceeds support cancer research and local programs. Activities will include a moonwalk, scavenger hunt, silent auction, performances by several local entertainers and a luminary ceremony in memory and/or honor of cancer survivors and those who have not survived. Children age 15 and younger will support Relay for Life with a Kid’s Walk for Relay May 20, from 3 to 5 p.m.
