Durham, NC -Watts School of Nursing's (WSON) fall 2007 class had 100 percent passage on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX). The NCLEX is the national examination for registered nurses.
We are proud of the reputation for excellence WSON has," says Peggy Baker, EdD, RN, WSON director. "The NCLEX scores are another example of this tradition. This is a great accomplishment."
According to the North Carolina Board of Nursing, in 2007, the average passing rate on the NCLEX was 87 percent nationally and 89 percent in North Carolina.
WSON, celebrating 113 years of continued excellence in nursing education in 2008, recently moved to a new location at 2828 Croasdaile Drive in Durham. WSON is a two-year hospital-based diploma program offering students extensive hands-on experience, small class size and a strong theoretical knowledge base. The school continues to emphasize this hands-on hospital based education at Durham Regional Hospital.
