Durham Regional Hospital and Duke University Health System strives to provide high quality and safe patient care. Valet Parking & Greeter Services

For your convenience, valet parking and greeter services are available to assist patients and visitors. These services are available Monday- Friday 6 am- 6pm. A fee of $4 will be charged for valet parking.   

Newspapers

Complimentary newspapers will be delivered to patient rooms by volunteers Monday through Friday.

Interpreters

If a patient has difficulty speaking or understanding English, or if the patient’s hearing is impaired, the hospital will provide assistance. Please notify your nurse.

If the patient’s native language is Spanish, an in-house Spanish interpreter is available, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m.-midnight. At other times and for other languages, the hospital has interpreters accessible by phone. Sign language interpreters are available to assist the hearing impaired.

JCAHO Public Notice  

Effective January 1, 2006, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations will be conducting unannounced accreditation surveys to health care organizations.

The purpose of the survey will be to evaluate the organization's compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards. The survey results will be used to determine whether, and the conditions under which, accreditation should be awarded the organization.

Joint Commission standards deal with organizational quality of care issues and the safety of the environment in which care is provided.
