Durham Regional Hospital offers a full complement of services to treat all types of abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias).
A dedicated electrophysiology laboratory is available for cardiac electrophysiology procedures, which check the heart’s electric signals. These electric signals determine how fast your heart should beat. If your heart rate goes too fast or too slow, we will test it to find out why this is happening.
Arrhythmia services include radiofrequency ablation of various abnormal heart rhythms including supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, and atrial flutter.
We also offer implantation of automated internal cardiac defibrillators (AICD’s), pacemakers, and biventricular AICD's.
