Volunteer Opportunities
We are proud of our dedicated family of volunteers here at Durham Regional Hospital. More than 200 adults give their time and energy to help serve our employees, patients and visitors. Volunteers fill a critical need throughout the hospital, staffing areas such as the DRH Giftique, the Information Desk, the Flower Room, Patient Visitation, Escort, and various other areas. We couldn't provide the quality of services we do without the help of our volunteers.

Junior Volunteers
The hospital offers summer volunteer opportunities for teens, 14-18 years of age. This provides an excellent opportunity for students to interact with healthcare professionals and learn in a medical environment. The summer volunteer program is eight weeks in length. Volunteers must make a commitment of at least five weeks to be eligible. Applications are accepted beginning April 1st each year, with a due date this year of May 7, 2010.
To apply, print and complete the following:
- Junior Volunteer Application (with photo attached)
- Two Reference Forms (each sealed in an envelope)
- A copy of your immunization record
